About

the search for the honest man requires a lanternI live in Wisconsin. Sorry. I have a MA in Library Science and an MA in Thai studies (strictly speaking, the department is Languages and Cultures of Asia, but Thailand is really what I focused on). I hope that explains everything you might need to know about my brain and how I’m feeling at the moment.

In my spare time I draw a comic, “Em ơi!”, which is archived on this blog. I write extensively and somewhat professionally; in December 2013 my first novella, The Joy of Fishes, was published by Battered Suitcase Press. You should buy a copy. I also run (distances of up to 50 kilometers), bike, lift weights, and swim. This season (2015), I have done a 20K, a trail half, paced a road half marathon, and run a trail 50K out in Kettle Morraine State Park.

My other hobbies include learning foreign languages, baking, photography, and hanging out at my house with my husband (B), dogs (Maya and Edgar), and cat (Kali). That concludes the list of things that are likely to be mentioned on this blog.

I have been blogging infrequently since 2002-ish on a variety of different servers (now mostly deleted, thankfully) and have thus far failed to monetize the blog into a career whereby I could simply blog all day and not ever have to wear trousers or leave the house if I don’t feel like it. Too bad. If you are reading this and want to give me a ton of money to do such things, or wish to act as patron to my current novel, please feel free to email me at ehlupton(at)gmail(dot)com.

Happy and TiredI can be found elsewhere on the web:
